Forest Playground

Forest Playground

To create a play area in the Kilfinan Community Forest using simple wooden equipment (like that in the picture) cut and milled on site. Funding would help pay for clearing the site, geotextile to go under the wood chip surfacing, metal fixings for the equipment, anti-slip surfacing, some artificial climbing holds and the first year's insurance.

Points

We host a regular playgroup on Fridays and various kids activities throughout the year. This funding would help us provide a simple play area to enhance the experience of visiting the Forest for local kids and holiday visitors.

I think a lot of people would use this and it would be another venue for local nursery children. Good idea.

this would be great for the kids

A woodland playground would support the Community Forest’s ‘Baby Bears’ parents and toddler group and help develop more access to outdoor activities for young people

Fantastic idea, a forest playpark would be well used and enjoyed by both the local community and visitors to the area.

This would be a wonderful addition to the community forest. Bringing more children and their parents to experience the space. Great idea.

I've no doubt this would be a popular feature within the community forest, which is already regularly used by children (and big kids alike!) from the local community and beyond. It is a logical next step to the activities already taking place for youngsters, and therefore makes total sense in terms of future development.

Great extra resource for local kids and holiday makers

This project helps families get out into woodlands for healthy activity-on this site that includes those in small rural communities and visitors. Being in woodland is good for mind and body.

The kids will love this - in Blairmore we have loved seeing all the children enjoying the newly created Blairmore Gardens - it's great to see kids enjoying the outdoors. Good luck to you.

Visiting and local kids will just love more outdoor play places so close to the village with parking, picnicing and walks in the woods adjacent. This would be very popular indeed. They can also see what a 'working community woodland' can do. A great project!!!

Excellent idea for developing family interest in visiting and using the forest for re reation and physical activity

This would be a wonderful resource for the school to use, especially combined with a Nordic Walk session.
