Helensburgh and Lomond Autism Cooking Lessons

Helensburgh and Lomond Autism Cooking Lessons

Recently we have been able to fund a number of cooking lessons for a group of our junior members and due the huge success we would now like to provide this opportunity to all of our members. This activity will allow our children to learn in a supportive environment that is appropriate to their needs. We have seen how this activity has allowed our members to grow in confidence, learn essential life skills and elevate social exclusion resulting in friendships for the children and parents.

Points

This activity will allow our children to learn in a supportive environment that is appropriate to their needs, gain confidence learning an essential life skill and to also help elevate social exclusion resulting in friendships being made not just for the children but also for their parents allowing them to combat loneliness which is often felt.

Excellent idea. Giving the children essential life skills in a safe, quiet environment. A lot of these children cannot deal with lots of people and noise and these small groups give these children the same opportunity as other children.

These classes have been amazing for our children. A lot of our children have sensory issues regarding food and a limited diet. The cooking classes allow the children to explore the ingrediants in a fun and encouraging manner while also providing life skills. Well done helensburgh and lomond autism.

Excellent classes for children in a relaxed and non-judgmental environment, enabling the children to learn an essential life skill at their own pace whilst having fun. The achievement and pride felt in what has been learnt is clear by the smiles on everyone's face after each class.

Argyll and Bute TSI will hold a drop in help session on Wednesday (10th January) from 10am-12pm and 1-3pm in the Helensburgh office at 14 Colquhoun Square. If you would like help with the stage 2 application pop in and see us (we will have a cuppa and biscuits on hand too...)
