Harbour Challenge is currently renting this from the Borough but has closed it up because of (apparently) interference from drinkers in the Park. A (paid) Centre Manager for the Bowling Club would be an excellent way of giving new life to the Bowling Green area. The provision of all sorts of activities on the site would pay for the manager's wage.
We used the area for a Big Lunch on June 3rd and 45 or so folk came from Vale Road (we invited the road for lunch). All agreed that the P{ark is a local treasure and that the bowling Club area had amazing potential.
An excellent site is currently closed and being vandalised/ misused
The new Care Home would hugely value an open Clubhouse as a nearby destination for residents to walk to/ have a cuppa/ reminiscence club etc
