Christian Felber - Economy for the Common Good

Christian Felber - Economy for the Common Good

What was the nature of their innovation and how did it contribute to humankind? Founder of the Economy for the Common Good, which advocates a more ethical economic model, in which the wellbeing of people and the environment become the ultimate goal of business. What constitutes the ‘common good’ is determined democratically by reference to four core ethical values: human dignity, solidarity and social justice, environmental sustainability, transparency and democratic co-determination. At the heart of the model are the Common Good Report and Balance Sheet. These are practical tools which enable any business, local authority or government to assess its contribution to the common good and to ensure benefit for all stakeholders.

Christian Felber Economy for the Common Good is a very practical and simple idea. It asks companies, communities and organizations with economic activities to explain their contribution to humanistic values. ECG is a game changer in the corporate world. Christian has written THE book about it and is the inventor of the concept. He is the prototype mixture of a thorough thinker combined with a political activist combined with an instructive speaker.

Life is relationship - good life is good relationships. The ECONOMY FOR THE COMMON GOOD is an economic model in which good relations - the dignified treatment of the actors among themselves and with the environment - and thus the good life of all are at the centre of economic activities. This is precisely what the world needs most urgently. Christian Felber has made an outstanding contribution to the development of this economic model.

ECG stands for a democratic, sustainable and social economy. That is just that we need for now.

Christian has started an idea with the potential to transform economy into a way to serve both nature and mankind. In just nine years he has initiated a movement that has power to give companies and politicians new impetus. 160/5000 In a very short time, he has contributed more to the real development of the economy than most of the so-called Nobel Prize-winners for economics.

With the Gemeinwohlökonomie (Economy for the Common Good) Christian Felber has developped a convincing concept of a new economy based on ethical and democratic principles and a realistc and pragmatic approach to realize sustainable production and trade. It aims at enhancing democracy, humanity and more solidarity in business. The Gemeinwohlökonomie can help to overcome the neoliberal - entirely profit-oriented - economy and make the world a better place.

Claus Gößling the ECG (Economy for the Common Good, german GWÖ) has been suggested by Christian Felber. This movement is growing steadily and more and more enterprises undergo every second year an analysis of their "ethical behaviour" in many different aspects. The result will be hopefully an economic system which is not only looking for its individual profit but also for the "common good" aspects of its activity. This will be for the best of the planet and mankind.

it requires special skills and a good deal of courage to design and teach the theory of an economic system and to enter the real laboratory of life and test it yourself, so that the theory is proven, adapted and improved. Thank you, the good life for all becomes the reality of many....Thank you, your work is an example for many and shows ways for many essential problems of our time.

In an Economy for the Common Good, ethical, durable products, and services become mainstream; regional and local economic activity is stimulated; employment becomes more meaningful, rewarding and engaging; cooperation within and between businesses is promoted; income and wealth become more fairly distributed; the economy operates in harmony with, not to the detriment of, nature and the planet.

We can make market, public and commons economy, but now we have the opportunity to make them all converge into a common goal: the good of all ...and its precondition: a good environment.

The concept offers both, a strategy and a toolkit for organisational development towards a clearly human-oriented ethical economy. To me it sounds like a realistic chance to safeguard our living conditions. This outstanding idea is worth sharing over all countries.

Christian is the voice of all who are thinking to change the world into a better place. These can find their abstract thoughts in a concrete vision.

The Economy for the Common Good is a concrete model in which everyone, from private persons, employees and managers in companies to local or national politicians, can directly contribute to a sustainable way of doing business and thereby shaping our common future.

Felber instrumentalizes the notion that ‘the economy ‘ is here to serve democratically defined societal goals refuting the argument that the globalized economy and financial capitalism (necessarily) define the limits of a democratic society.
