Lewes Repertory Theatre

Lewes Repertory Theatre

The Lewes Repertory Theatre lost their premises in the fire at the Phoenix Centre in Lewes earlier in 2014. Currently they have no home but whilst they were in operation they provided a centre for the arts and theatre which had helped develop people’s careers as well as providing employment for those with disabilities

Points

The theatre company have applied for planning permission to develop the old magistrates court in Lewes as their new centre. They need professional (legal, engineering and architectural) help to convince the National Park to support their proposal as well as carry out negotiations with the Ministry of Justice and Whitbread plc amongst others. They also need professional help to apply for Arts Council, EU and Lottery funding which will help them buy or lease this or another suitable building.
