The notice board in the middle of Rodmell by the Village Hall is beginning to show signs of its age ...it has to put up with all weathers & whilst it has been 'braced' continues to buckle & so is leaking quite badly.
The Village Notice Board is in a very prominent position (as it should be) and is seen by anyone passing by in either a car, bus, bicycle or on foot. It would therefore be lovely to see a smart, tidy notice board instead of the tatty, dirty one we currently have. And if the money could run to 2 there is also one which needs replacing in Mill Lane!
We do not have a Post Office or shop in Rodmell so there is nowhere else to post notices. It is an easy and free way for local people to publicise events and advertise local services. The old notice boards are beginning to leak and need replacing.
The notice boards paly a huge part in village communication and they are in need of replacement.
The notice board offers space to inform both residents and the many visitors to the village, of up to date relevant activities . Also services and exhibitions , concerts , bus timetables , and many other useful items of information . It is an essential and well used point of contact .
The old noticeboard is in poor condition and utilised by many community groups
Communication and sharing of information is essential for a small village
We are a small village. No post office, no shop. The only physically available option for all of us to see what is on is the notice board. Yes, we have an internet page but a lot of people here, for various reasons, can't use it. This is a vital resource for the community and needs to be fixed.
The board is used by residents , local businesses , groups , charities , tourists etc & as an information point on local services such as bus time tables etc . It is a simple & effective way of communicating with everyone. The old board is unlikely to make it through another winter & will be sorely missed....
